The RCS High School Baseball Team will host John A. Holmes High School in NCHSAA 1st Round Playoffs on Tuesday, June 15 at 6 p.m. at Optimist Park. Admission is $7.
RCS seeks knowledgeable, passionate, and experienced coaches to help build our Bulldog athletic programs. Successful candidates must enjoy working with student-athletes, possess the ability to take initiative, and demonstrate a strong work ethic while maintaining a positive attitude. There will be OPTIONAL Middle School Boys (rising 6th, 7th and 8th graders) Soccer Workouts at the RCS Field beginning this Wednesday, June 16 , 4:30-6:30 pm and continuing every Wednesday (except July 7, 21 and 28) until Wednesday, August 11. Players will need a valid physical to participate and will need to bring cleats, shin guards, water, and a size 5 soccer ball. RCS Summer School will be held June 7 - June 17, 2021 from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. If your child is attending both the 8 - 10 a.m. session and the 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. session, they will have a break from 10 to 10:30 a.m. and may bring and enjoy a snack during that time.
Dress code for summer school is jeans day dress code or regular school dress code. Ripped or torn jeans are not allowed.
Middle school students who need to attend summer school received a letter and parents were contacted. High school students were notified by teachers or the guidance counselor.

RCS honored six retirees at its 2021 closing meeting on June 2. Mike Czysz, Pete Tuck and Eric Swanson retired last year, but the school was unable to recognize them then, due to the pandemic. They were honored this week, along with Sherri Slade, Laura Stoute and Teresa Elliott, who retired this year. We thank each of the retirees for their service to RCS and wish them well in retirement.
Keegan Storrs, or "Profe," as he's known to students, is the RCS Teacher of the Year for 2021-2022. Storrs has taught high school Spanish at RCS since 2016. He leads the annual RCS in Spain trip, lends his musical talents to school productions, and is a true team player, according to RCS High School Principal Darkarai Bryant. Congratulations, Profe! We are #bulldogproud!
EmergeOrtho is offering $10 Sports Physicals on Wednesday, June 9, 6-8 p.m. at multiple locations around the Triangle. Cash or check only. Student-athletes should fill out the medical history portion of the physical form, signed and dated by a parent/guardian. ALL proceeds are donated back to the school!

Caroline Cates, a rising eighth grader at RCS, has won first place in the North Carolina Career Development Association's Poetry and Poster Contest. The theme is "My Future Career -- Imagine the Possibilities." Caroline's poem will be entered into the national competition and winners there will be announced later this spring.
