We are #bulldogproud of RCS rising 8th grader Caroline Cates! Her poem, "My Recipe for Success as a Chef" won first place in the state and national middle grades competition for the National Career Development Association. The theme of the 55th competition was, "My Future Career: Imagine the Possibilities!" The National Career Development Association (NCDA) provides professional development, publications, standards, and advocacy to practitioners and educators who inspire and empower individuals to achieve their career and life goals.

We are #bulldogproud of rising 7th grader Mary Emma Roberts, who is a local top-seller of Girl Scout Cookies. She sold 1,020 boxes of cookies this year. Mary Emma also accepts monetary donations, which she then uses to purchase and donate Girl Scout Cookies to the Ronald McDonald House in Durham. This year, she donated nearly 100 boxes.
The RCS Board of Directors held its annual planning retreat today, July 1, 2021. New Board members and officers were sworn in by Person County Clerk of Court Deborah Barker. Former Board ChairJanet Clayton ended her nine-year term and welcomed new member Jennifer Brown. The officers for 2021-2022 are Walt Rogers, Chair; Lin Cates, Vice Chair; Jenny Eggleston, Treasurer and Jona Fitzgerald, Secretary.

RCS High School Students, if you ordered a yearbook supplement, you may pick it up at the front desk beginning Monday, June 28, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Only those who asked for supplements may get one. No extras were ordered.

High school women’s tennis workouts will begin this Thursday at 4 pm at Huck Sansbury. Workouts will be on specific Tuesdays (at 10 am) and Thursdays during June and July. Skill level is not important for participation, just interest in tennis. Athletes must have a valid physical.
