While the students were away, the teachers were here today! During the remote day, teachers participated in professional development together, discussing how to use AI in the classroom and how to better build leadership and community in the school. They then enjoyed lunch and a gear sale especially for them! A huge thanks to the PTSO for hosting the sale and providing lunch from Butcher's Daughter and dessert from Flat River Cafe!

Each year Professional Educators of North Carolina (PENC) holds their annual Young Artist Competition. The goal of the competition is to highlight the hard work of North Carolina's students and their teachers. This year, 11th grader Emily Nguyen won 1st place in the high school division! She was awarded a certificate along with a gift card last night at the Board of Directors meeting by PENC Membership & Marketing Coordinator Aiden McInnis . RCS Visual Arts teacher Anne Bettendorf also received a certificate and a gift card. McInnis then presented a canvas print of Nguyen's winning artwork to the board of directors to display in the school. Amazing work, Emily!
