We want to offer some clarification about our add/drop days in August. Specific grade levels are assigned to different days to ensure everyone does not show up on the same day, overwhelming our counselors and creating long wait times. Please see the times and days below and plan accordingly.
From 9 am-12 pm and 1-2 pm daily.
August 5 - 12th Grade Add/Drop and Parking Pass Drop-off Day
August 6 - 11th Grade Add/Drop and Parking Pass Drop-off Day
August 7 - 9-10th Grades Add/Drop and Parking Pass Drop-off Day
Please also see this message for students from Mrs. Ragland.
I know that you all are anxiously awaiting the release of schedules, and I promise it will happen soon! The delay has been caused by RCS transitioning from PowerSchool to our new student information system, Infinite Campus. I have recently been given access to work with student schedules in Infinite Campus, but I'm still learning this new system, so it is taking longer to adjust schedules than normal. Please be patient as we learn this new system. Here are a few additional things that I'd like for you to keep in mind:
1. When your schedule is released, my goal is that it will have all of the classes you need, and hopefully what you want, according to the classes you registered for back in March. If not, you will have the opportunity to make changes on your drop/add day in August. If you can't attend drop/add, you will have the first 10 days of school to make schedule adjustments. Schedule changes will not be processed by email. Because I am actively working on schedules, I will not be able to respond to everyone's email concerning schedules. My apologies!
2. When schedules are released, If you notice open periods or classes missing from your schedule, it is because everything you need/want doesn't fit perfectly in your schedule, which will require a conversation about your options during add/drop.
3. If you have PCC or NCVPS classes or TA periods, those will be added to the RCS schedule later. However, Ms. Oakley will provide students with your PCC schedule, which they are expected to follow accordingly. For NCVPS classes, Mrs. Cox will provide login information to your RCS email.
4. Once schedules are released, it is highly possible for a student to notice minor changes in their schedules, such as a shift in some class periods, due to the need to balance class sizes.
If anything else needs to be addressed, it will be communicated by email.

This coming school year we will be switching from PowerSchool to a new platform called Infinite Campus. We still have limited information about the platform, so this flyer contains all the information we have at this time. We will share more detailed information once we receive it, but we wanted to ensure you all know this transition is happening.
