Crazy for Crawley t-shirts are black w/ white lettering. Sizes youth- 4XL. $15.
All preorders are due by Friday, October 4.
To preorder, stop by room 322 or email hawkinscb@roxborocommunityschool.org. Volleyball players will be set up during lunch today and tomorrow.
Shirts may also be purchased at games between September 30 and October 9. On October 11, the volleyball teams will play in honor of Mr. Crawley and all those who are fighting or have battled cancer. Students and staff who wear their shirts to school that day will get a free jeans day. Those who wear the shirts to the game get in free.


High School Art Club will meet on Tuesday, October 1, from 3 to 3:30 in Room 230. We will be painting -- please wear old clothes.

Students who will be 15 by April 15, 2020 are invited to attend drivers' ed book work classes October 14-24, 3 to 5:30 p.m., Monday-Friday, in the dining hall. Cost is $65. Pencil and paper required FIRST day. Sign up with Mrs Graham at the front desk, or call RCS.

MS Boys' Basketball Open Gym
The Middle School Boys' Basketball Team will hold an Open Gym at Olive Hill on Tuesday, October 8 from 3:45 to 5:30 p.m. All interested participants must have a valid physical on file with the school.

PSAT Reminder
The PSAT on October 16 is open to students in grades other than 11th, who are automatically signed up. There is a $17 fee for those not in 11th grade. Please contact Mrs. DeVillier, Mrs.Hawkins, or Mrs. Ragland by September 30 to sign up. Test results can be used to create free personalized practice plans to help students prepare for the SAT or ACT.

Beta Club Induction
The Senior and Junior Beta Club Induction Ceremony will be Monday, September 30, at 6:30 p.m, in the multipurpose room. Students should arrive early to line up.

Tryouts for HS Boys Basketball will be on Wednesday, October 16 from 4:00 - 6:00 pm at Helena Gym (in Timberlake). All interested participants must have a current physical on file with the school. Please contact Coach Bettendorf with any questions at BettendorfJL@RoxboroCS.org

HS Boys and Girls Basketball Workouts will be at Helena Gym (295 Helena-Moriah Rd Timberlake, NC 27583) beginning Monday, September 30 and running on Mondays and Wednesdays until October 14. Boys are from 4:30-6:00 pm; Girls are from 6:00-7:30 pm

Junior and Senior Products, Rings Meetings
Herff Jones representatives will meet with RCS Juniors tomorrow, Thursday, September 26, at 8:30 a.m. in the multipurpose room. Seniors will meet with Herff Jones Friday, September 27, at 8:30 a.m., in the multipurpose room.

ACT Prep for 10th, 11th Graders
There is an opportunity for to 10-20 high school students to receive ACT prep through the ASPIRE program sponsored by NC State University. The class begins on October 14, and will be hosted at Roxboro Community School.
ASPIRE is designed to bridge deficits in rural high school students’ performance on the ACT. Upon acceptance, students receive 30 hours of class instruction from trained ASPIRE teachers (high school teachers and Cooperative Extension agents) where they will learn the skills they need to be able to tackle the ACT. Students receive the Course Workbook for the ACT and the Princeton Review 1,460 practice question manual. Through the program,
students take four full-length ACT practice exams and receive score analyses.
Ten scholarships will be offered to students. Please see the attached schedule and flyer.

RCS Again Scores High in US News School Rankings

RCS Students Help Set Up for Relay for Life
A group of RCS students worked this morning on setting up for this weekend's Person County Relay for Life, which raises money for the American Cancer Society. And, they had a little fun while working.




Interact Meeting
The next meeting for the Interact Club will be Monday, September 23. Two options for attending will be provided. Members are only required to attend one of the options. The Interact Club will meet during lunch and after school, at 3:05 p.m. Both meetings will be held in Room #401. Adela Stevens and Bryce Yarborough will share their Rotary Foreign Exchange experiences and new volunteer service opportunities will be discussed. Members, please bring your $5 dues.

Tonight's HS Varsity Volleyball Match against the Carolina Mustangs will be played at RCS at 6 pm and is FREE Admission. Please come out and support your Lady Bulldogs!
