Amanda Carter, high school math teacher, was named our 2023-2024 Teacher of the Year yesterday!
High school principal, Jeremy Martin said that she is the perfect choice for this honor. "Amanda Carter is an outstanding teacher who always gets the best out of her students," Martin said. "Every day, the administration, faculty, and students see how committed she is to her students and our school."
Carter shared that divine timing brought her to RCS three years ago. She shared that teaching is about seeing the lightbulb moments with her students as they grasp new concepts, as well as seeing her former students go on to find success in their lives.
She also added that she'd like to revamp the saying "those who can't do, teach" because being a teacher is far from a "deadbeat" job. She said she felt called to teach and I think anyone who knows her would agree. Mrs. Carter is an incredible teacher and an amazing person, and we are blessed to have her in our RCS family!
