RCS Academic Coach Melanie Winstead presented at the Connecting Communities of Education Stakeholders (CCES) Conference, March 18-20 at the Koury Convention Center in Greensboro. The conference theme this year was "Innovative Pathways to Personalized Learning." Her presentation was titled, "Technology Options for Creating Student Learning Paths." Her presentation was about how student learning paths are an essential component in providing students with a personalized learning experience. “Giving students multiple options when it comes to interacting with the content and demonstrating mastery of learning goals helps students better manage their own learning goals while still attuning their personal learning styles/needs,” said Winstead. “Effective student learning paths provide students with multiple options to experience the content, interact with and test their knowledge of the content, and demonstrate mastery of learning goals. The session examined these principles and provided participants with best practices in creating effective learning paths for students,” Winstead explained, adding that she also shared how “technology tools, such as Google Apps, Thinglink, and Blendspace can aid in creating student learning paths.”
