Roxboro Community School (RCS) has received confirmation of its 10-year charter renewal from the state Department of Public Instruction.
Ten years is the longest renewal period awarded for charter schools in North Carolina. Currently in its 10th year of operation, RCS was initially awarded a 10-year charter in 2006. The charter renewal is a two-year process that involved a self-study report, site visit, interviews with parents, staff, school administration, and the Board of Directors. The state also audited academic, operational, and financial measures to determine the school’s renewal term.
