The Roxboro Community School (RCS) Board of Directors tonight named Dave R. Ebert the school’s Managing Executive Director.
Ebert, a Winston-Salem native, comes to RCS from Eastern Alamance High School, where he served as principal from 2005 until 2017.
He said tonight he was “looking forward to this opportunity,”
of leading RCS, adding he had “heard nothing but great things about Roxboro Community School.”
Ebert concluded by saying he was excited about becoming a member of the Bulldog family.
In addition to Eastern Alamance, Ebert has also served as principal of C.W. Stanford Middle School in Hillsborough, and taught at other schools in Orange and Wake counties. He holds a master’s degree in school administration from N.C. State University and master’s and bachelor’s degrees in teaching with a concentration in physical education and health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Ebert was named 2014-2015 Alamance-Burlington School System Principal of the Year. He received the Orange County Excellence in Education award in 1999 and 2000. Ebert was named Wake County Outstanding Young Educator in 1988, and was several times named Coach of the Year. He has coached baseball, football, basketball and soccer, and has been active in coaching with Special Olympics.
Ebert and his wife, Tracey, have three children.
Donna Ingram, RCS Middle School Principal, has served as Interim Managing Executive Director for the past three months. She initially applied for the position on a permanent basis, but later withdrew her name from consideration.
“I wish Mr. Ebert well, and will support him in any way I possibly can to ensure the continued success of our school,” Ingram said today.
