Stop Hunger Now Help Needed
There will be a community-wide Stop Hunger Now event at Theresa Baptist Church on Saturday, November 4, from 9 a.m. until noon. Student volunteers are needed. Those who can help should contact Wanda Williams at williamskw075@gmail.com, or Carrie Hawkins at hawkinscb@roxborocommunityschool.org.

The original due date for completed DEP’s (including academic and volunteer goals) was Wednesday, October 18 (per parent letter sent in September). However, since Mrs. Slaughter will not be here on Tuesday this week, she has extended the deadline to Friday, October 20. Parents, if you have not seen your child’s DEP for this year, please email Mrs. Slaughter.

Apple Pie and Pumpkin Contest
The RCS FFA and Art Club are sponsoring an Apple Pie Baking Contest and Pumpkin Carving/Painting Competition on Tuesday, October 17, from 3:05 to 4:30, in the cafeteria.

The annual Coffee House Jam will be

Students, remember to bring in your Box Tops and can tabs ASAP.
Yearbook Orders
Please make checks for yearbook orders payable to RCS, not Strawbridge. Turn in at front desk or room 220. If you don’t have an order form, please put the check or cash in an envelope, seal it, and put the student’s name and grade on the outside of the envelope.
NCSSM Application
10th Grade Students and Parents, the North Carolina School of Science and Math application process for the 2018-2019 academic year is open and must be completed by January 15, 2018.  Fall Open House dates for NCSSM are October 21 and November 11. Please visit the web site for more information and to register for open house.

AP Academy Book Drive
AP Academy students Bricen Jones and Karson McKenzie will host a Book Drive on Sunday, October 22, in the Roxboro Baptist Church parking lot, at 202 South Main Street. They are collecting

new and

gently used books that are appropriate for children in pre-K through grade five. The drive is part of the AP Academy’s Literacy Program. Collected books will be donated to South Elementary School.
