RCS seniors take home top three Distinguished Young Women titles

On Saturday, Sept. 24 Roxboro Community School (RCS) senior Catie Mooney was named Distinguished Young Woman of Roxboro for 2017, taking home five preliminary awards. She is the third consecutive RCS senior to receive this honor.
Senior Kailey Oakley was named first runner up, taking home three preliminary awards. Senior Chandler Warren was named second runner up, taking home four preliminary awards.
Mooney, who has attended the show every year for as long as she can remember, said that placing felt “surreal. “This year, just participating in the program was a dream come true, but placing made it all the better,” she said.

Roxboro Community School unveils new facilities to record crowd

Friday, Aug. 12 marked the culmination of a decade’s worth of renovations on a 117-year-old former textile plant that now houses college preparatory educational opportunities for middle and high school students in Person and surrounding counties.

Open House Dates

Student/parent open houses will begin August 4, with the 6th Grade Open House on Thursday, August 4, at 6 p.m.

The 7th and 8th Grade Open House will be on Tuesday, August 9, at 6 p.m.

The High School Open House will be on Thursday, August 11, at 6 p.m.

High School Parking Passes

Parking pass applications will be emailed via RCS Communications in the coming weeks. Students should complete the applications and return them on the appropriate day. Students should have their drivers’ license with them when they return their parking applications. August 3 will be 12th grade drop-off day. August 4 will be 11th grade drop-off day. August 5 will be the date for all other underclassmen to drop off their parking pass applications. Passes will be handed out during Open Houses.
